Well......
I just recompiled my kernel on 7.2 and am using kernel-2.4.9-34.
I get a kernel panic when I reboot...
pivotroot: pivot_root(/sysroot,/sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
kernel panic: no init found. try passing init= option to kernel
This is the first time I have gotten this when I re-compile the kernel.
I have the original and new one on the machine. Needless to say the
original boots fine.
2.4.9-34 . The new one ... 2.4.9-34custom does not.
This leads me to believe it is either in the grub config or I didn't
complie something in the kernel that is needed for filesystem boot.
The grub config looks just like the original lines except I have added the
word custom after the vmlinuz-2.4.9-34 and initrd-2.4.9-34 lines.
I did make a new initrd-2.4.9-34custom. The line I used is: mkinitrd
2.4.9-34custom.img 2.4.9-34custom
I have no modules in the kernel Everything I need is complied in, no modules.
Any ideas on this one?? I have searched google and didn't really find help
for my particular case.
Thanks
Randy
