I had the same
problem with my laptop. What I finaly found out was that it was the USB hub, I'm
not saying that its USB for you, but what I had to do to fix it was to find some
arguments that would disable/limit hardware detection on install so that it
wouldn't try and load USB drivers. To find out which hardware is causing
the problem try to use a different console (ctrl+alt+F#) where F# is, try any
and all of the function keys. This might let you see some messages of whats
going on and what it stops on. As for the arguments to disable/limit
hardware probing on install, I really don't know where to find them. If any one
does know where theres a list of them I would also like to
know.
