Thanks Rick for your reply, but I do not have that device "st0m". All I have is...
# ls -la /dev/*st0*
crw-rw---- 1 root disk 9, 128 May 5 1998 /dev/nst0
crw-rw---- 1 root disk 9, 0 May 5 1998 /dev/st0
Also when I try your suggestion, I get an error message...
# mt -f /dev/st0 setdensity 0x29
/dev/st0: Input/output error
Maybe could I have not installed this tape drive correctly? Should I have a "/dev/st0m" device? Any other ideas???
Thanks,
Tom

Instead of using /dev/st0, try /dev/st0m. You might also try something
to the effect of "mt -f /dev/st0 setdensity 0x29".
