Re: lockups on Dell Inspiron 5000e laptop



Hello, sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for your help.

The first command listed below did not seem to work correctly. When I typed "chkconfig --level 3,5 xfs on", it just gave me usage guidelines for chkconfig. The command above looks correct according to the syntax.

When I typed the second command "chkcofig --list xfs", it listed all of the run levels. Levels 2, 3, 4, and 5 have xfs turned ON. Should I turn off levels 2 & 4?

Hi,

Run the following commands and try to boot system in runlevel 5 and check if
your problem is solved.

# chkconfig  --level 3,5 xfs on
# chkcofig --list xfs

It should show that xfs is on in run level 3 and 5
eg.  (3:on   5:on)
