.wishrc showed up when I typed

man wish.

You see, I'd never even heard of wish before your first email. I just did a
little digging and figured it out after seeing you weren't getting anywhere.

So, I was in over my head and your Tcl programming gave me the keys I needed
to solve the problem.

I don't understand your next question about a little bit...

I got it to work by taking these lines out of xfortune:

# fortune --
# Simple Tk script to create a button that prints fortune message.
# Click on the button to terminate the program.

set myvariable [ exec /usr/games/fortune ] ;
button .fortune -text "$myvariable" -command exit
pack .fortune

and putting them in my home directory in the .wishrc file, then I can click
on the Gnome foot and then Run and just type wish in the text box and NOT
click on Run in Terminal. That brings up a wish box with the fortune as the
button to click to exit.

I then added it as one of the startup programs to be run, and it came up
nicely.

I also tried putting it in /etc/wishrc, but that file isn't checked so I had
to put it in ~/.wishrc to get it to work every time.
