Please forgive this nubie question, but I cannot find the answer anywhere.
What command(s) do I use to see what kernel I'm currently running/using on
my rhl 7.2 computer?
"uname -r"
How do I find out what my system hardware/software versions are?
What do you mean? Individual packages have their own revision
numbers. Most of them will respond to "programname -V" or
"programname --version". You can see which versions of the various
RPMs you have by "rpm -qa". The basic RedHat distribution can be
found by "cat /etc/issue" (unless you've buggered the startup code).
