Hi Pete,
Firstly let me apologize for taking a while to reply, my 10am 'morning'
meeting just overran by 3 hours <yawn>; now I can get on with some 'real'
work!

Pete - it was very kind of you to do this test for me. I bought some large
blank CDs and have burned the ISO's on to them. I was using Nero burning
software and -yes- I made the CD from the ISO image.

Yes I tried this late last night and dd gave me an input/output error but
only after a long time, suggesting the error is at the end of the CD. As a
result the md5 sums were incorrect. This happened with both enigma install
CDs. This is inkeeping with a disk burning problem. Although your burning
was successful this may be because we selected different preferences; for
instance in my preferences I can tell my software to use more space on the
CD than its 'published' size, I didn't try this but it serves as an example
of why your burning may have worked and mine may not have done.
I am now at the 'installing packages' stage of the installation -about 25%
done so far- and I think it's got further than either time before when I
had 'can't find rpm' errors. Fingers crossed the larger CDs burnt ok.
Many thanks for your repeated help and your going, 'way beyond the call of
duty', in burning a test cd and md5sum checking it for me.
An update on my progress will be sent as soon as the installation stops
(good or bad).
Thanks and regards,
Matthew
PS. I downloaded the documentation ISO at the same time as the 'enigma'
ones.
