Odd. There are some other things:
1) Are there any ntfs partitions on the drive? I think the 7.2
installer has problems with that.
2) Is this an Athlon-based machine? The installer does have problems
with that. There's a new boot floppy you should use if that's the
case. You can also try to add "noathlon" to the boot command line
during the install.
In fact, it might be wise to use the new boot image floppy in any case.
