Hi,

It's a HP LPr Server, this one comes with a NetRaid-1Si card. I have a lot of other running very well with NetRaid-3si cards!! The kernel use the same module "megaraid"!!! Honnestly I'm quite puzzuled!!

What do you mean by "nomce"???

At the install boot prompt, you'd enter something like:

boot: text expert <other-options>

For example, to disable athlon-specific stuff:

boot: text expert noathlon

To add nomce:

boot: text expert noathlon nomce

There are a number of different options available. Most (but not all)
are documented in the kernel source Documentation directory in the
file "kernel-parameters.txt". If you have a kernel source RPM or tgz
installed, the default location is
"/usr/src/linux/Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt".

Hi again,
I tried all the disks, and still the same behaviour!! :(
I'm quite desprerate now!! :(

Geeze! This is weird. Have you checked the RedHat errata site to
see if there's any known problem with this?

Which kind of motherboard/processor are you running? If it's a
pre-built machine, what is it (Dell, etc.). I know that there are
some problems with Dell systems and RH7.2. You need to add a
"nomce" to the boot command.

I've tried the CD install and the network install but both failled. Actually it seems the module loads but can't find any disk on the scsi bus, by disks I mean logical disks of course....

The strange thing is it's working well with the 7.1 installation, even if I upgrade a 7.1 to 7.2, it works!! I really don't understand!!!

Odd. There are some other things: 1) Are there any ntfs partitions on the drive? I think the 7.2 installer has problems with that. 2) Is this an Athlon-based machine? The installer does have problems with that. There's a new boot floppy you should use if that's the case. You can also try to add "noathlon" to the boot command line during the install.

In fact, it might be wise to use the new boot image floppy in any case. Here's are the links to them:
