Monitor and System power down problem

Can anyone tell me where in KDE X-windows I have to go to disable the
monitor and system powerdown during system idle time?  I'm having my PC go
down during idle periods and when I need it, it takes a l-o-n-g time for it
to power back up and be useful.  The bios settings are correct, but
apparently there is some OS software settings (like in MS Windows) that also
have to be changed.  I've looked everywhere I can think of.
