Can anyone tell me where in KDE X-windows I have to go to disable the
monitor and system powerdown during system idle time? I'm having my PC go
down during idle periods and when I need it, it takes a l-o-n-g time for it
to power back up and be useful. The bios settings are correct, but
apparently there is some OS software settings (like in MS Windows) that also
have to be changed. I've looked everywhere I can think of.
I don't know where it is in KDE, but "/etc/rc.d/init.d/apmd stop"
will shut down the APM daemon, and use ntsysv to disable it on
the next reboot. Also, try "man apmd" to see what you can do with
the daemon if you don't want to kill it entirely.
