Yuck!  That's unfortunate!  I can understand no BIOS setting (if you
disabled it and pulled the card, how would you reset it other than
resetting the CMOS?), but there SHOULD be a jumper on the motherboard.

Anyway, try "lspci -vv" and see if you've got an interrupt conflict
in there.  If so, you may be able to make the BIOS force the ATI
card's interrupt to something not used.  X will support multiple cards,
but they must be visible to the bus (obviously).  And you have to set
the XF86Config appropriately.
