It made a difference because I had an older Yamaha and it hated 700MB
discs. I bought up as many 650s as I could find. The stock is getting
low (but not really low), so I bought another burner on Ebay. It handles
700s OK.
I had the option of adding on an external that's the same model I use
now, which is internal. The problem with that was it's my wifes' and I
had the bad habit of connecting to do a burn and having it stay there
for days or weeks at a time. So I resorted to my older Yamaha. With the
new one I can use the larger discs. I still have a stock of 30 or
40-something 650s to use up, so they'll be around for awhile.
