couple of hoops to cite your mail, and many (including myself)
summarily punt such.

Can't help you with Winblows, but for Linux, I have a subscription
with

for their KRUD (Kevin's RedHat Uber Distribution) which is a monthly
updating of the current RedHat distribution plus a several extras.
It's the only practical way to keep my five Linux boxes (three of
which are exposed to the Internet) updated.  To the point, I've had no
problems with Mozilla updates.  Can't say about RedCarpet (don't know
of it) or Ximian (I use the AfterStep window manager).  I do know that
KRUD lags slightly behind the latest updates to assure that they are
stable.
