RE: modem? Pre-installation sanity check RH7.2 on Toshiba Tecra 8100

I can't say I have much in the way of advice. I have a laptop I'm
considering RedHat for as a second OS, but don't know if I'll completely
drop W98 because of the proprietary hardware (CD control buttons like some
keyboards have, built-in to the laptop case...) and the drivers which work
there. Though I suspect I could map those "keys" to whatever functions I
want.

I bought a second hard disk for the laptop and plan to install on that.
Swapping the drive out takes about 5 minutes, so downtime will only be
during the loading of RH, in case I get paged whilst in the endeavor.

When I saw on the thread the recommendation of getting a second hard disk,
my extensive knowledge had been matched, thus, no comment needed... Oh, and
without his permission, I keep about a third of my brains in Rick's head;
another quarter in Grendel's head and the rest I farm out to the other's on
this list... I think I only have about 20% left over to keep me on the road
when I drive and to operate a fork at meal-times.

But, let us know... Laptops are a different breed because they break every
rule in the manufacterers "handbook on cloning IBM PCs", if there really is
such a thing out there.
