my redhat box could read the RD-only but not the
RW one. why?. got it to do with the RD or RW?...??

Uh, was the RW disc a rewritable CD or a CD-R? What color? Older CD drives have trouble reading the bluish CD-RW discs, and sometimes the greenish CD-Rs. This is due to the color of the laser in the older drive. They read silver and gold with no problems, but the other colors give them conniptions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Rick Stevens, SSE, VitalStream, Inc. rstevens vitalstream com - - 949-743-2010 (Voice) http://www.vitalstream.com - - - - "The bogosity meter just pegged." - ----------------------------------------------------------------------
