hmmm...interesting. i'll see if future occurances 
support this theory.

netscape 4.x, but other times it's happened has not been
due to netscape, so i wouldn't get too deeply into 
blaming netscape.

good idea. i'll also monitor xdm-errors and messages, too,
while i'm running.
