Kernel Parameters

Hi.

I have installation of RH 7.1, which has an kernel upgrade of 2.4.3-12.  

I need to modify the kernel parameters: sem, shmmax, etc.  I was told to
"write a script to initialize these values during system startup, and
include the script in your system initialization files".

I can write the scrite to initialize these values for system startup.  But
where do I include it? What are the system initialization files?
