RE: USB Keyboard

jwhite,
Your description is what I understood to be true. For whatever reason RH GUI installation has never handled this particularly well. I'm sort of on the periphery of this list, but I've certainly seen people complain about this sort of problem before.

It may just be me, but I quit using the GUI installation a couple of years ago. For whatever reason, it always seemed to be just a bit behind the test installation in terms of supporting hardware and what not. Frankly, I haven't missed it at all. I install RH maybe 20-30 times per year. The text one works well for me.

Again, I don't use any USB keyboards, but others have failed at this same point. I can't promise it won't happen with the text installation also.

With best regards,
Mark

Subject: Re: USB Keyboard

OK.  Maybe I should've been a little more specific in my problem.  My USB keyboard works in my BIOS, in Windows, and right after I stick in my Linux CD.  When it asks me to press enter to continue the installation or to press whatever for a rescue session, I can press enter and everything else.  But once the GUI installer loads, the keyboard is totally inoperative.  I don't think it is even being fed power because non of the lights light up.  I have used a PS/2 before to complete the installation, then plugged in my USB and it worked after the OS was loaded.  It just won't work during the GUI installation.

Now any help?
