question about Apache/MySql/PHP

I am trying to install Apache, MySQL & PHP.

I am running both Apache & MySQL ok, but when I do the ./configure & MAKE,
it doesn't seem to want to finish correctly.  I saw one note that I needed
to install some sort of development package or something.  Does anyone know
how I might get this to work?  I get it to work on Win just to check it out
and that works fine.....

any help would be GREATLY appreciated
