Cannot mount /dev/cdrom after installing from CD

Hello !
I can't mount /dev/cdrom after installing from this CD.
My CD is on hdc, and here are the commands that use at shell:
[root localhost root]# mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
mount: /dev/cdrom is not a valid block device
[root localhost root]# ls -l /dev/cdrom
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Oct 10 14:21 /dev/cdrom -> /dev/hdc
[root localhost root]# ls -l /dev/hdc
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 22, 0 Aug 31 2001 /dev/hdc
here what shows /var/log/dmesg:
ide0: BM-DMA at 0x4000-0x4007, BIOS settings: hda:pio, hdb:pio
ide1: BM-DMA at 0x4008-0x400f, BIOS settings: hdc:pio, hdd:pio
hda: FUJITSU MPG3204AT E, ATA DISK drive
hdc: FX5401W, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
