Hi all,
I've been trying to get the Intel Pro/1000 (82546) NIC to work on a
freshly installed Red Hat box without success. First I tried Red Hat
7.3, but ended up installing 8.0 instead. Now the driver is
recognized and ifconfig says up, however I'm not able to ping or
trace anywhere.
The server is set up with a static IP address and is connected
directly to a 100Mbps switch. I've tried both the e1000 driver
supplied with Red Hat and the latest Intel driver from
www.intel.com. All says UP, but it's not working. The card is
installed with the default parameters (Auto) and so on.
Any information is most welcome!
Thanks,
Andreas
