install problems

I put in disk one and install through gui mode.  Installation then hangs
at this line:
blk: queue c02e836c, I/O limit 4095Mb (mask 0xffffffff)


I tried through text mode and same thing happens.  I tried linux noprobe
and linux diskppc options but it still hangs.  any suggestions?
