RE: DHCP/eth0 configuration for RH 7.1



Some Ideas -

1. netconfig only edits config files, and does not change the configuration
until the next boot.

2. ifconfig -a will list all ethernet interfaces. If eth0 is not listed then
there's a problem with the install.

3. after netconfig if you run # ifdown eth0 then # ifup eth0 the
configuration *usually* will take.

4. You can always try  # service network restart

I have a cable modem connection that uses DHCP. I've specified DHCP in
netcfg,
but it still doesn't recognize eth0 on boot. I feel like I'm missing
something
simple. Any ideas?
