Install Hangs with spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ 7

I've run into a problem with the installer. It hangs with the following message
spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ 7
Most of the messages in the forum indicate it's a Parallel port problem. 
I've disabled the parallel port in the bios, and still no luck.

It's an Asus K7V, 1 gHz Thunderbird Athlon, Promise Ultra 100 board.

I've read all the posts, but they refer to the message coming up sporadically.

Have you seen this before? Suggestions?
