OK, the previous
info was with the CD in the drive at boot; without it (just the disk), I get to
a point where it asks what language I want to use, and then stops taking
input.
It seems that the
first ASCII-art screen that I get to freezes the machine. Using the same
CD set and boot disk, I was able to install successfully on an old P2-450/128MB
machine that only had 5GB of unallocated hard drive.
