switch to kde...

i have defualt text login, if i want a gui i just type: 

>xinit
>gnome-session

and gnome pops up.

now, my question is, how do i start kde?

kde-session does not work, and unfortunately i am new to this.

and by the way. how to see ntfs file systems or mount them?
