Rick - You mentioned getting NTFS RPMs from freshmeat?
Does that mean you can get NTFS support by installing an RPM
rather than recompiling the Kernel?
I've always recompiled to get NTFS Support.
I won't vouch for it, but someone somewhere said the ntfs module
is available via RPM. It might be from RedHat's site. I can't
recall.
ALSO, On my Toshiba Laptop whenver I add NTFS support in a recompile
I get an unbotable kernel - (Can't mount /)
Any ideas about that??
Sure. Did you build an initrd for the kernel you built? I suspect
your root filesystem is ext3 and you either need to build ext3 into
the kernel statically or leave it as a module and build an initrd for
it. That's the most common problem.
