Re: Find DHCP/DNS issues

I've had this same problem with Red Hat installs. More directly, the system
can't seem to detect eth0, despite all the suggestions provided in this thread.

Curiously, I've successfully installed Mandrake 8.0 (i.e., the installation
successfully detected eth0) and I was up and running on the internet instantly.
This immediately followed an installation of RH 7.2, which failed to detect
eth0 no matter what I did. I'm convinced that the difference is not in what you
do post-installation (run dhcpcd, run ifup, ifdown, ifconfig, ...) but rather
that there is a missing module somewhere, something that is NOT getting
installed despite making all the right choices (cable modem/DHCP) during the RH
installation.

As I understand it, MKandrake is based on RH, so it should not be a platform
issue. I would feel more comfortable if I could just load out RH 7.x and go.
