Problems booting 8.0 Install disk

I seem to have a problem booting up the first ISO of the 8.0 install disk on
two systems that have previously worked well under versions 6.0 through 7.3.
Both systems are very different but both show the same symptoms on boot.

System 1 is a Dell Inspiron 7500 Laptop, dualbooting with Win2K, this is a
Pentium 3 with 192MB main memory
System 2 is an old Gateway Server box with a Pentium I on an Intel
motherboard and 64MB of memory. This system has an AHA2940 SCSI controller
and no IDE. The CDROM is on the SCSI controller.

On System 1, I see the following
When booting from floppy (No CD Loaded), I get to the boot prompt and the
following happens:
 Loading vmlinuz????.
 Loading initrd.img?..
Boot Failed: please change disks and press a key to continue

The CD seems to boot on System 1 but I don't want to do anything there yet
as I have to clean up the partitions first.

When booting from CD, the following message is seen on system 2:

SYSLINUX V1.75 2002-06-14 isolinux: Loading spec packet failed, trying to
wing it
 ?
Isolinux failed to locate CD=ROM device: boot failed

When booting from floppy (No CD Loaded), I get to the boot prompt and the
following happens:
 Loading vmlinuz????.
 Loading initrd.img?..
Boot Failed: please change disks and press a key to continue

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hugh Kennedy
