samba on RH7.3

I am having a difficult time with samba. It does not
seem to work properly.  I have windows 2000 on one of
the machines i want to use with my linux 7.3. When i
go to my network neigbhoorhood i see the linux machine
but cannot see its contents, i get the following
message box: \\machinename is not accessible. 
The network path was not found.

And when i go to linux and do a smbclient -L hostname
i see the server,the workgroup but the Sharename is
not showing, instead i see Error returning browse
list.

Any ideas ? Thanks.
