Re: RH 8.0 install troubles

I'm new to Linux, so please don't throw too many
rocks! I've had a terrible time just GETTING to the
install with all of the APIC error on CPU0 that I've
been getting. But, I actually got to the install this
AM and even got the first disk installed. It asked for
the second disk, once I put it in...I got an error
that there it was "unable to mount CD-ROM". What's up
with that? Any ideas how to recover from that? I
thought it was somewhat strange since I used the
CD-ROM to boot and install the first disk.

ALSO, anything I can do to get rid of all of these
APIC errors? I have a microtel no-OS system with a 40G
harddrive, 1.4GHz Athlon processor. Also, I'm install
the RH 8.0 from the box set I purchased.

When installing, specify "noapic" on the command line:

boot: linux noapic

As far as your CDs, this may clear that issue, too. If not, did
you burn the CDs yourself? And if so, did you do an MD5 checksum
on them (at the "boot:" prompt, enter "linux mediacheck")?
