You must copy the .img file to the floppy in raw mode. If you have Windows, use the "rawrite.exe" utility on the first RedHat CD. If you're running Linux:

I am having the same problem downloading boot.img to my floppy. I do not have the CD handy. Is there a way to copy the file to a floppy in windows so that the 1440 KB file will fit onto the 1380 kb free space of the floppy?

No. The image is a RAW IMAGE of the ENTIRE, RAW floppy. It is NOT a file to be copied to the free space of the floppy. You must use a tool such as rawrite under Windows or linux's "dd" to do it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Rick Stevens, Senior Systems Engineer rstevens vitalstream com - - VitalStream, Inc. http://www.vitalstream.com - - - - Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------
