HI little.
The difference as I understand it is that the ext3 is a journaling
file system. It keeps a record of the state of the drive to help
recovery more accurate. Again, as I understand it, both the ext2 and
ext3 would be termed "linux native".
I have seen it recommended more than once on this list to install ext2
then once you are up and running do a conversion. This is what I did
during an upgrade and it worked flawlessly.
