Trying to install
RH9 (boxed set) in GUI - many times, many different installation choices.
All ending with the "rpmdb: fatal region error" and reboot producing
"error 15: File not
found" message trying to load the kernel. Obviously something has not
gotten unpacked/installed on the /dev/hda2 partition. I've tried all I know of (long
term newbie) and most of what I've learned by Googling but nothing has
worked.
This list contained
a post mentioning the same problem but I couldn't find a reply post.
Another post mentioned a problem with rpm in the RH9 distro - how do I get
around it?
I have installed
this same distro on several other boxes with no problem. Could be hardware
stuff, eh?

Does Linux not like

Any insight would be
appreciated.
