Trying to install RH9 (boxed set) in GUI - many times, many different
installation choices. All ending with the "rpmdb: fatal region
error" and
reboot producing
"error 15: File not found" message trying to load the kernel. Obviously
something has not gotten unpacked/installed on the /dev/hda2 partition.
I've tried all I know of (long term newbie) and most of what
I've learned
by
Googling but nothing has worked.
This list contained a post mentioning the same problem but I
couldn't find
a
reply post. Another post mentioned a problem with rpm in the
RH9 distro -
how do I get around it?
I have installed this same distro on several other boxes with no problem.
Could be hardware stuff, eh?
Asus P4T bios rev 10.07
512mb RDRAM
Intel P4, 1300mhz
Trident 3dimage 975 video
Sony 52x CD-ROM
20g Quantum Fireball
Auto partitioned
Does Linux not like RDRAM?
Any insight would be appreciated.
