hi everyone,
i'm a newbie here and would really appriciate
some help.
i put a new 80GB hard drive on an old e-machine
an (etower|400id) and --oops!--ran the Seagate installation disk that came with
the HD, which only had windows format options. i ran a few of them ('98, Me, and
XP) and then tried to install Red Hat Linux 9.
a CompUSA person told me i shouldn't have done
that. oh hell.
Now, whenever i try to run anaconda, no mater
what bios configuration i try, the install exits abnormally.
linux rescue won't install
either so i can't use fdisk or anything beyond the
boot: prompt.
i'm afraid the various windows formats i tried
are screwing up anaconda's attempts to create the partitions it
needs.
please help?
sincerely,
AJAX
