When you log in again, try clicking the "session" icon at the bottom of
the screen and select KDE BEFORE you enter your password and hit ENTER.
You should come up in KDE.

Keep in mind that many of the tweak tools default to their Gnome-based
forms.  They will work even on the KDE desktop.  You have to use the
KDE-based tweak tool specifically unless you edit the kapok out of the
default menus.
