RH 9.0 network card not detected

I am trying to install RH 9.0 Professional workstation (purchased from Best
Buy) and I am running into 2 problems.  The first, the program will not
install unless I run linux mem=384M.  I then change to LILO and add the
mem=384M as an option.  I have never had to do this on versions I have
downloaded in the past.  Then once I do get it loaded it will not detect my
network adapter.  I have tried manually to install it but it will not
activate.  It says it can't find it.  I am using a Dell 8100 with 512 M of
RAM and a Xircom PCMCIA card.  What am I doing wrong?  I thought by buying
this ligetimate copy that everything would work fine.  Please help or point
me in the right direction.  Thanks.
