Greetings,
I too was still reading the list over the Christmas period and was
entertained by some of the entries.
My thanks to Graham for directing me to the rhil web site about putting a
sound cable between my sound card and my CD. I'm not experienced in the
insides of the grey box so for the present I am happy to accept the logical
explanation for what seemed to be a problem.
New puzzle: I am running RH7.2 and using the KDE GUI - happily. I normally
use Konqueror to do my browsing on that machine and that works fine. For
comparison I tried to look at Mozilla. It was on the installation CDs and I
believe I installed it. I put the CD in the drive and Kpackage opened it
and also said that it believed I had installed Mozilla.
However when I click on the Mozilla icon the icon flashes and the machine
churns away for a little while, and then stops. A short time late the icon
disappears and I am left where I started with no Mozilla and no message
saying why not?
Could I try to start it from a text screen instead? If so, where is the
executable file and do I need to be logged on as root?
Alternatively is there some preference or setting I need to activate before
Mozilla will run?
Thanks for your help,
Ken
