A "well-behaved" program should rely on the mailcap entry, especially
mail programs, but check in your "Preferences" for each program to see
if there is a way to select what it calls on to render URLs.

If all that comes to naught, let us know. Either someone else will
have a better solution, or I can divulge an ugly dodge I dasn't admit
