Wheel mouse

Hi  y'all,

I have a Pentium III PC with a PS2 mouse with thumbwheel.  In Windows
XP, it automatically allows
the wheel to be used to scroll a window (most useful when surfing the
web).  When I installed 8.0 recently
I just choose the two button PS/2 mouse (and emulate the middle button).

How can I get the wheel to work in Linux without having to install 8.0
again?  It is a nice feature to have
event though it's not absolutely necessary.
