Can't boot from GRUB but floppy boot works

This is a fresh install of RH8 on a new Abit board with dual ATA100
hard-drives. When booting off the drives I get the word "GRUB" repeated again
and again on the console. If I use my boot floppy to boot it works just fine.

Any ideas?
