Login Hangs with IPCHAINS enabled

Hi -

I installed 8.0 on my Toshiba laptop, and found that if IPCHAINS starts
(not IPTABLES) then my Login hangs after I supply a username and password.

I disabled IPCHAINS using

chkconfig --levels 35 ipchains off

and that fixed the problem.

I left iptables and ip6tables enabled, and /etc/sysconfig/ipchains was left
as installed.
Any idea why ipchains is hanging up the login process?

There are 2 REJECT lines in the ipchains file -

-A INPUT -s 0/0 -d 0/0 -p tcp -y -j REJECT
-A INPUT -s 0/0 -d 0/0 -p udp -j REJECT

I issue a > service ipchains start after login and all seems well.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Golly. You try to take the shortcut ...

Ok, I think I've got it fixed now. To repeat, that URL is

http://www.cumbytel.com/~bobcatos/rhifom.cgi

Let me know if I missed something.
