RE: Install Boot Hangs

Jeremy,

I installed redHat and WinXP from a wiped disk. From what I remember, first
I rescued WinXP which could not find itself(i'm winging it with exact terms)
so it reinstalled itself. Ok, then I took Partition magic and allocated 8GB
as ext2. Then I deleted thge partition. Partition Magic will leave the
space "unallocated". That's the way the space is listed in the disc view.

Then I popped RedHat in and did a clean install. See the Thread "Install
freezing up for Redhat 8.0" to get some really good detailed advice.

Just My experience. Hope it helps.

In the best of all worlds, unpartitioned.

helps me, but I have a peanut linux cd around. I can boot off of that and
