New kernel update fails dependencies

Hi,
I just installed RH 7.3 on a new server, and I am
trying to upgrade to the latest kernel following
the RH errata.
The new kernel I want to install is:
kernel-2.4.18-19.7.x.i686.rpm and
kernel-smp-2.4.18-19.7.x.i686.rpm 
but both fail dependencies telling me that it needs
a kernel >= 2.4.18 which is what RH 7.3 installs.
I am following the instructions on Capter 23 of the
RH 7.3 Customization Guide and I can't figure out 
whow to fix this problem.
Can anyone help?
