RH 8.0 Printing Problem

I have RH8.0 with custom 2.4.20 kernel. I've configured a
Laserjet 2100TN on the LAN using redhat-config-printer. The
printer works, but all print jobs stop after printing one
page. Here's some other symptoms:

1) redhat-config-printer starts, and it seems to successfully
configure the printer, meaning an /etc/printcap shows up. I
put that /etc/printcap at the bottom hereto. When redhat-config-
printer starts, it produces the following messages:

(redhat-config-printer:3308): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from
(NULL) pointer to `GObject'
(redhat-config-printer:3308): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gobject.c:
line 972 (g_object_get): assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
(redhat-config-printer:3308): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from
(NULL) pointer to `GObject'
(redhat-config-printer:3308): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gobject.c:
line 972 (g_object_get): assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

2) I chose the pxlmono driver. Again using redhat-config-printer I
tried to edit the printer driver options, like Send Form Feed etc
to see if that would help. The options edits don't seem to "take",
meaning after saving changes and restarting lpd, the /etc/printcap
file is unchanged from that before I changed the options.

Ideas appreciated. Thanx, Randy
