Thanks for your response.
My version of lokkit only has high, medium, none and custom as options. In custom, I don't see any optdion for smb. I tried adding smb to the Other section but saw no change in iptables generated.
How do I "open the ports for Samba"? I also wish to access Apache on our lan and it seems to come and go with the iptables file as well.
