That is correct.
Before we go further
- Please turn off HTML mail.
- Please configure your mailer to wrap lines at about column 72 or
thereabouts.
I may have missed earlier discussions. Is your machine on a network
behind a good firewall? If so, you can just turn off the firewall in
your machine, and the problems are solved.
If not, I recommend you download and install either FireStarter
(GUI-based firewall config tool)

or gShield, a config-file-based firewall tool
http://muse.linuxmafia.org/gshield.html
I use the latter on my household network firewall. It's easy to use.
