Thank you and you were clear and I have never seen
this issue with either mice or keyboards. At boot time
you may want to turn off a a particular system service
beause it hangs during the boot. Try using keyboard
config or kudzu. Enter kudzu while the system is
booting, look for a message on the screen that says
press 'I'to enter interactive startup. Press I and you
will be prompted to enter interactive startup. The
kudzu hardware discovery utility will check for
hardware that has either been removed, added, allow
you to add or remove the hardware or do nothing.

When all the new or changed hardware has been
reconfigured, you are prompted to start service
reconfiguration. Type Y and you will be stepped
through each service that is configured at boot time.
This is an excellent way to turn temp off a service
that is hanging your system. Let us know because I
have never experienced the issue. :)
